That article in full
The woman on the doorstep speaks in sorrow, not anger. Her daughter has split up from her husband and is now a single parent with two young children.
They all live with granny because the daughter and her kids have been refused a council house.
And, according to granny, that’s because all the available accommodation has gone to immigrants.
The house is full. Granny looks a bit worn down by her new lodgers. The novelty of having the little ones to stay is clearly wearing off.
The family seems resigned to the fact that nobody will do anything to help. They have more or less given up complaining about the way we roll out the red carpet for foreigners while leaving the locals to fend for themselves.
When you ask most people in the Black Country what the single biggest problem facing the country is, most people say immigration. Many insist: “Enoch Powell was right”.
Enoch, once MP for Wolverhampton South West, was sacked from the Conservative front bench and marginalised politically for his 1968 “rivers of blood” speech warning that uncontrolled immigration would change our country irrevocably.
He was right. It has changed dramatically. But his speech was political suicide. Enoch’s successors in Parliament are desperate to avoid ever mentioning the issue.
It’s too controversial and far too dangerous. Nobody wants to be labelled a racist. Immigration is the issue that dare not speak its name in public.
Yet everywhere you go, you hear the same story. There are simply too many people competing for the space, houses, benefits, public services and jobs this country has to offer.
It’s claimed we couldn’t survive without immigrants to work in our hotels, pubs and restaurants, to pick our fruit and clean our hospitals.
But that’s because we make life too easy for the five million or more people who could be working but enjoy life too much living off the state.
Why are 1.65 million people unemployed when it seems as if there’s a job for more or less anyone who wants one? Why are 2.4 million people claiming incapacity benefit when society is getting healthier?
In the past some of them would have been accused of “swinging the lead”, “skiving”, “scrounging” or “cheating”. Now we’re told they need “up-skilling” and then they would be only too happy to work (but for their bad backs).
We only need so many Polish waitresses because so many people who were born and bred in Britain can’t be bothered to work.
This week we have seen a slight but important shift. Immigration has come out of the closet.
Even David Cameron, the most liberal Conservative leader for decades, has decided it’s safe to discuss immigration openly.
This is not about race; it’s about numbers. I have been lectured on this, on separate occasions, by several Asian Britons. They argue that their families came to this country to work hard, get on, pay their taxes, earn a living.
Today, far too many immigrants – they tell me – wheedle their way into Britain in order to benefit from the generosity of our welfare state. Asian Britons resent this as much as anyone.
And no wonder. Does anybody in the country really want to see our population grow by almost half a million every year so that in 24 years’ time it will have increased by almost 11 million?
Do we really want to see the country devastated by another three million houses or more over the next 12 years? Up to two thirds of these houses are only needed to cater for immigrants.
How on earth can we afford to meet other costs – council housing, roads, hospitals and schools – linked to this staggering increase in the population?
Do we really want increased taxes to meet the increased costs of an increasing population?
We must police our borders. Deport without debate bogus asylum-seekers and illegal immigrants. Abandon the “human rights” merry-go-round.
Tell the EU we won’t take anyone from Bulgaria or Romania or any other country which wants to “join Europe”. And get rid of the 11,000 foreigners in our jails.
Alas, the Government hasn’t got a clue how many people it’s let in already.
Home Secretary Jacqui Smith, the MP for Redditch, humiliatingly apologised this week after claiming 800,000 migrant workers had come to Britain since 1997. Turns out the real figure is 1.1 million.
First we’re told immigrants took 30 per cent of the 2.7 million jobs created in the past decade. Then the official figure was increased to 40 per cent. Now it’s 52 per cent – making Gordon Brown’s promise of “British jobs for British workers” look pretty silly.
It’s all guesswork And they Government has even less of a clue how many illegal immigrants there are.
Of course it’s right that we share the international burden of caring for genuine refugees fleeing persecution and death. But we’re being exploited. Britain is seen around the world as a soft touch.
We must remember that, as the grandmother I was talking to the other day pointed out, charity begins at home.

Hi, I really do think that you should not quit. My husband & I said a few years ago how Enoch's speech was going to happened. I believed him then & believe it more so now. You are only saying what people are saying. My son & family have gone to Australia because of the state of the UK. Our grandchildren are going to grow up & ask us what happened to all our traditions etc. They are making us into a second rate country, we are just the dumping ground of Europe. We need someone with guts to deal with this problem, at present no one in government on any side has had the guts to deal with it. We have said all a long we would vote for the party that had the guts to do something now about it before it gets any worse. It cannot continue. My husband is retired & has been trying to find a small part time job for the last two years & needless to say found nothing. PLEASE DON'T GIVE UP, WE NEED SOMEONE STRONG TO DEAL WITH THIS. I am also writing to my local MP as well on this subject as I feel so very strong on it.
Nigel, you are right ,pity you had to resign.
So, you're no longer a parliamentary candidate now Nigel, and your political career is over? How does it feel knowing that you will never be an MP and that all the hard work you put in for the Conservatives over the last few years has been for nothing?
I guess there's only one thing to say about that:
OCH AYE.. TIME TO SAY GOODBYE!!
Ha ha ha!!
Don't worry Nigel, you can always stand for UKIP or the BNP. You'll not become an MP but you will get 2.5% of the vote and the respect of dozens of sad, anonymous bloggers whom you'll never meet.
Although if I were you, this furore would be the least of my worries. You'd best hope that nobdy makes an official complaint to the police about your disgusting article about Scottish people from several months ago. I'm sure you don't fancy spending time in jail for inciting hatred, do you?
I wonder what your employers will make of this as well. I'm sure they don't want a public racist in their midst. Time to look for a new job, perhaps? Oh, how will you pay poor Lucy's school fees now?
OCH AYE, TIME TO SAY GOODBYE NIGEL!! HA HA HA!!!
Its logical, simple and you should be thanked for saying it.Thats why we left England.
at least someone stood up and said what everyone else is thinking, thanks for that.
Dear Nigel, how refreshing to hear someone speaking some common sense on this issue, and how predictable to see the slimey Peter Hain put forward to condenm you as racist, please, please we need someone like you to form an alternative political party to the rubbish that is on offer to british voters at the moment.
Keep up the good work Steve Robson
i totally agree with your comments about enoch powel if things dont change we will all be wearing veils in ten years
We agreed with your comments and also annoyed that you had to resign as a result. You only said about Enoch Powells speech what many thousands of ordinary people are thinking everyday in this country. You are only telling the truth is it a crime now to tell the truth or does everything have to be lies.
You have plenty of support Mr Hastilow,This bunch of traitors at Westminster will not be satisfied until England and the English are wiped of the map.
You are a racist bigot; stop burning the crosses and take the towel off your head. Benefits are taken by lower class caucasian Brits and immigrants are the hardest working people in this country. Get your facts right.
It seems that it is now time for you to sign up as a candidate for the BNP, where you, as a racist, truly belong...
Unlike Patrick Mercer, you had the courage of your convictions and refused to grovel and say sorry when you knew (we all knew) you had done nothing wrong to be sorry about.
The freedom to protest should be fundamental to democracy.
In the context of freedom of expression, the Court has stated that this "constitutes one of the essential foundations of a democratic society, indeed one of the basic conditions for its progress and for the self-fulfilment of the individual. Subject to paragraph 2 (art. 10-21) it is applicable not only to "information" or "ideas" that are favourably received or regarded as inoffensive or as a matter of indifference, but also to those that offend, shock or disturb the State or any section of the population"
Freedom of speech is the concept of being able to speak freely without censorship without having to say your sorry for truthful rhetoric.
This country is already bursting at the seams, something needs to be done or this lifeboat called England will founder upon the rocks of its own stupidity and, the rivers of blood, envisage by Enoch Powell will become the feared reality. Where will our
grandchildren live, where will they work when the needs of millions of immigrants have taken over our cities and depleted our resources?
There is nothing offensive in your article, although agree with Enoch is still considered politically incorrect by Westminister, the media etc - but not the rest of the population.
It is time for grown up, mature, unPC political debate on this - and other contentious - matters. Pleasing Trevor Phillips and Polly Toynbee is not going to win a general election.
I hope you continued to listen to Galloway after your slot on Talksport, perhaps you'd like to comment on his twisted analysis of your apology.
Dear Nigel, despite the suppression of free speech by the loony liberal brigade, many millions in Britain say that Enoch Powell was,and will be proved to be right.
Nigel, to see out your concern over immigration, you'll only be able to deal with the problem, if you join the BNP or UKIP.
Quite right that this racist tosspot was given the sack. He lived by the sword of insulting and inciting hatred against other ethnic and social groups and was in no way fit to represent the Conservative Party.
Hopefully the fact that throughout the rest of his public life he will be known as an open racist will make him repent his sins.
The problem that you face is that obviously their are some that do not want to hear the facts of life. Yes Enoch Powell was RIGHT, and now the country is paying for ignoring his warnings. Quitting would indicate that perhaps you do not beleive in your convictions, if you believe then you should stay the course, you may be surprised how much support you may find.
Good Luck to a realist NOT a racist.
Well said Mr Hastilow, and in
this PC-climate, which denies freedom of speech, courageously spoken too.
Don't give up! The people are behind you, just read the blogs in the Times and Telegraph and elsewhere.
I don't think the Conservative party is the place for you, but note that BNP has become very "house-trained" in the way it acts and is today the only forum where one can speak the truth about immigration and where the facts aren't bent or hidden.
Don't be silenced!
Nigel,
Good to see that you have a bit of backbone. As such, if you would like to talk to me about the political situation in Halesowen,
please email westmids@bnp.org.uk or call 07836 703089.
I do have a number for you but consider it rude to call you out of the blue at a time when you must have many things on your mind.
Stay Strong.
Simon Darby
British National Party
I was disgusted that you had to resign. For what, speaking the truth? We do have too many people entering this country and the rivers of blood are already flowing: remember 7/7 when Islamic fanatics bombed tubes and buses? Since when has speaking the truth been racist? You were reflecting the views of your constituents. Isn't that what MPs are supposed to do? When are the politicians going to wake up and realise that British people are fed up having to look after people who have absolutely no connection with this country, and come here and take council house and flats. You also forgot one thing in your speech. Many council flats/houses given to "desperate immigrants" are then rented out, by these "desperate" people to other people. Brent council has many cases such as this, and we're paying for it!
My daughter worked in housing for the local council, she was sick of handing keys to immigrants for properties but having to put a mother & her children in to a hostel as they had less priority. We give our housing to them & see our own homeless on the streets.
Many years ago I remember seeing the boards up in the gardens on our street of Enoch Powell, I asked my grandmother who he was & she said a very clever man & what he says will come true. It has & we just sit back & let it. No housing, over crowded schools, NHS struggling to cope, crime, no jobs, how long before they tell us to get out of our won country, we will be refugees one day, my heart bleeds for the young of today.
Nigel you should have fought to keep your position & been a voice for all of us. I was swinging to vote Conservative next election but not now, they are as bad as labour, no one listens to the people any more.
Oh dear! Mr Hastilow,
It appears you have attracted the attentions of NUliarbs U.A.F trolls, who are the product of the last 2 or 3 decades of indoctrination within the education system. Their own vile rhetoric towards honest people like yourself, simply prove they are the Nazis in the room. They are nothing less than egregious little morons who cannot tolerate any opinion other than their own. They impart it with such a high degree of viciousness and intimidation they put the Gestapo in the shade and they can't see the irony in that. It would be hysterically funny if it wasn't so deadly serious.
You must not give in to these oppressive tactics, you must stand as an independent. Your constituents will guarantee your victory
Well done for resigning Nigel - a courageous act. I suppose you are only representing the views of an ignorant minority of Brits who still think in empirical terms and are suspicious of 'Johnny Foreigner'.
I look forward to your hilarious comeback as a BNP candidate, or possibly a white van or taxi driver.
Rivers of blood? More like a lake of ignorance.
Nigel,
Hit the nail and all that. Well done have told Cameron the same. Excellent article dreadful that you have resigned. Everyone scared of the truth around them. Well done and all the best for the future.
Join UKIP NIGEL .The Nu-Cons are not the party for people who speak the truth. They are now in the pocket of the EU.Ukip proposes a 5year Moratorium on immigration after we leave the EUSSR. A referendum on the EU "treaty" will be the start of the counter Revolution. If you have a better idea I would love to hear it. Good Luck . Ray adams
Mr Hasitlow
I just wanted to record my support for your message. sadly in the topsy turvy world of political correctness you were forced to resign. This in a day when the BBC (yes even the BBC) are reporting that Al Queda are trying to recruit 15 year old "British" Muslims to their cause to attack their host country.
What a World we live in!
Good luck to you in the future
Neil
Nigel ... you made a mistake .... you should NOT have resigned ... what you said was not racist .. it was the truth. I would say that about 95% of British people will support your comments. They were not the comments of a prospective candidate ..... the were the comments of a British leader.....dont give up please.... get back in there fighting for Britain... and just watch the support you get ......Good Luck
Mr Hastilow:
I should like to take this opportunity to thank you for having the courage to say what you did. I am only too sorry that you have had to pay such a high price for having done so.
This country needs politicians like you, just as it needed politicians like Enoch Powell back in 1968!
I wish you were a representative in my part of the world. I would certainly vote for you; and in a heartbeat!
You may have not made it in the Conservative Party because of your honesty and sincerity; but please don't take this as curtains for your political career. There are other parties; and I, for one, shall be looking out for an opportunity to support you in all your political endeavours.
Thank God for people like you. You would have been a credit to the Conservative Party. It's just that they were too dumb to recognize it.
Good luck to you, Mr Hastilow. Rest assured that you have much support.
You state :
'It’s too controversial and far too dangerous. Nobody wants to be labelled a racist. Immigration is the issue that dare not speak its name in public.'
and then you state :
'Even David Cameron, the most liberal Conservative leader for decades, has decided it’s safe to discuss immigration openly.'
It beggars belief what you were hoping to achieve by this speech, we have had meaningful proposals from David Cameron and instead of engaging in the debate in a constructive way you hark back to Enoch.
You did the right thing by resigning but I am still totally baffled by the purpose of your speech if you are wanting to contribute to the Immigration debate in a constructive way.
You're a racist. I bet you think black people are an inferior race.
Like Enoch your comments were measured and well considered. Only those determined to use racism as an excuse to silence dissent could possibly object to your comments. The reaction of everyone I have spoken to is - at last a politician who is articulating what ordinary people think. The fact that the politically correct establishment felt obliged to force your resignation is a testament to the strength and truthfulness of your argument.
Och aye, time to say goodbye Nigel.
Bye bye everybody, bye bye!
ooplwhat you have said is the thoughts of thousands of Englishmen. We no longer have a country tro call our own. Keep up the good work. Harry
ooplwhat you have said is the thoughts of thousands of Englishmen. We no longer have a country tro call our own. Keep up the good work. Harry
If you want an immigrant for a neighbour, vote Labour (or Conservative).
Stand as an Independant candidate. I am sure many like minded Politicians will be following this case closely. Hopefully you will all get together and form a party that puts the rights of the British people first.
Good luck
Neil - Northumberland
At least EP wore decent suits.
Dear Nigel
If your comments are labelled 'racist' then all my colleagues I work with, neighbours I live with, family and friends, including myself and my husband all join you in being racists as well. We are frustrated and disappointed in the way England is losing her identity and respect. We've got nothing against all people living and working together in harmony but are sick to the back teeth of being a soft touch and taken for a ride.
Let's all be sensible and realistic and in control and let's get tougher and stricter on everything otherwise we will all be fighting for the same lifejacket when good old England starts sinking slowly into the cold depths of the English Channel.
Hi Nigel,
Usually read your column in the E&S, dont always agree with what you say but thought that your piece on Friday was well balanced and summed up what a lot of the 'normal' people in this country think. Scandalous that the spineless Tory party have dropped you just because some liberal idiot has played the 'race card'. All politicians run scared of this to the point where it prevents any sensible debate on what are very important topics. Housing is going to become a really hot issue in the near future due to the Labour parties idiotic refusal to cool the housing market pricing first time buyers out of the market. 'Council' housing is going to become more sought after by young people looking for a home and if newcomers to this country are given preferential treatment then a great deal of resentment will be and already is being caused. The other issue is with illegal immigrants not being deported, especially after being found guilty of a crime. I dont particularly agree with them being put in British jails in the first place but really think that if they cannot live by our societies rules then they should not be allowed to stay. The whole point of the judicial system in this country has been lost, whilst partly being about punishment, the real reason for jailing someone should be that they have proved themselves incapable of living amongst the rest of us in a law abiding manner. You only have to look at the difference in sentences given out for Bank Robbery and mugging leading to Death to see what the courts are about.
You should really stand as an independant or better still start a common sense party for ordinary people as I for one cant see myself voting for any of the main parties. I'd prefer to vote for UKIP or even the BNP at least they are standing for an opinion, however obnoxious. The main parties seem to mainly attract people who are in it for themselves, hence the reluctance to discuss any issue that will land them in dire straits like you. Best of luck whatever you decide to do and keep writing the articles.
You have only said what everyone else is saying, why should you have to resign?
If people will not listen and do something about immigration things will only get worse,Britain is filling up.
What you have said does not make you a racist,if it did most of the country are racist, people have got to wake up and see what is happening.
It is clear that there is considerable grovelling self-censorship among the main UK political parties on immigration; you are an intelligent man, but you are a victim of this.
Enoch Powell is invariably quoted out of context, as indeed you are.
Will any future mainstream political party be too afraid to allow a candidate to express support for Ray Honeyford too?
Why aren't there enough council houses? Is it because thousands upon thousands of council houses were sold off by the tories, and weren't allowed to be replaced?
Bravo!
Stand as an independent and give the Tories a bloody nose. Nice to see we still have people prepared to speak their minds and speak the truth.
Regards
Sharon Ebanks
Dear Mr.Hastilow,
The official Conservative reaction to your recent comments led me to ask the following question:
"Do we live in an age of hypocrisy when any good man who tells the truth is branded a heretic, or has it always been so?"
One thing is certain, eventually truth will prevail and history will judge.
Good luck in the future. Winston Churchill had similar problems but he stuck to his guns. Who did the establishment turn to as everything fell about their ears - Winston Churchill - thank God.
Yours sincerely,
DL
Mr. Hastilow, it's not just about the over population and the demand for jobs and housing, it's about the devastating shift in British culture, and that should be of primary concern. If you're going to stand up, stand tall and present the full state of affairs. After all, what more can they do to you?
I have been reading some of the comments left on your Blog, 99% are supportive, how dare anyone leave pathetic childish comments calling you "racist" you are a man with a backbone, you are a man willing to tell the truth no matter what, you are better than the liars in the Lib/Lab/Con alliance.
Be strong, Britain needs people like you.
Well done for having the courage to speak the truth. We are all expected to keep quiet in case it is not 'politically correct' and we might upset ethnic minorities. It is a shame you had to resign and a pity more politicians refuse to admit what is happening to our nation. We are losing our national identity completely and this uncontrolled immigration is being forced upon us. I cannot see the Labour party doing anything about it so I am hoping the Conservatives will show an indication that they will stem the tide should they come to power. However, with the reaction you have received I wonder now if that will happen. I also would encourage you not to give up. Thank you.
Nigel. Please stand as an independent candidate and force the issue. I'm fed up with immigration being buried in the compost heap of political bullying erroneously called "political correctness".
Please stand in the next by-election in England and make immigration the main part of your campaign.
What a dreadful state our country is in when one has to resign for telling the truth. Our leaders will not listen to the majority. our leaders do not represent the majority. We lack leaders who speak for the people. Most English people do not think we are racist. Minorities think we are racist, so what the hell does that mean? It means that they will use the racist card to get what they percieve to be their rights. The fact is that Enoch Powell was right has nothing to do with being racist.
This country belongs to the English, it has been so for centuries, it is up to the English what happens in England not for those from elsewhere to dictate what is right or wrong.
If England is racist and you cant stand it, please go somewhere more unracist than here. Why not go back where you came from. Is it because where you come from is even more of a mess than it is here?
This is ENGLAND, like it or leave it, it is not yours to do what you will.
Stay strong Sir, stick to your principals and continue to listen to the people.
Dear Nigel,
This is a difficult time for you, but you appear to be holding up to the onslaught of the tyrannical media. Hold onto your views, the Tories have betrayed you like they did the great prophet himself.
Regards,
BP
I read that speach in 1992 for the first time, by 1997 I ralised that he was right. Anyone who gets fixed on the rivers of blood thing is thick, in that Mr Powell was talking in a classic sense.
You are a man of principals, sacrifaced on the altar of PC. You are the type of leader that is bing denied to us.
This is one of the reasons that I left the UK. All we have now is the fascist-left who post their ignorant gloating drivel and show their ignorance with every word...
Och aye Nigel, it's time to say goodbye.
Powell was the greatest primeminister we never had, clearly he was right. The Tories are being led by the man who should be challenging for the leadership of the Lib Dems, where he could sit around all day and discuss raising taxes, relaxing borders, legalising drugs, releasing prisoners, and lowering the age of homosexual consent with like minded freaks. Don't leave politics, this country needs you!
Urban11
If expressing your view and opinion is no longer to be tolerated in this country without vilification how can any of us now pretend that we live in a country that stands for freedom of speech without censorship.
Nigel you have voiced an opinion that is endemic throughout the natural indigenous population of this once great country of ours and now because of almost 50years of appeasement to the left wing liberal socialists that have infiltrated every facet of every ruling body you now cannot tell the truth as you see it.
How can the tory party believe it has radical and hugely different policies from the current lot when it blocks debate on the issue you raise for fear of being seen to be rascist. If what you said is rascist then there is no hope at all for us ever getting back to free speech and open debate in this country ever again
There is nothing written in your article that could be construed by anyone of sound mind and reason as 'racist'. Only the feeble brained and dangerously one-eyed resort to such silly epithets when they cannot present a reasonable counter point.
I heard about Enoch Powell as a young man and so took the time to read his speech and works and found that he was not a racist. He did not believe in multi-culturalism although he did not have any problem with muti-ethnicity from what I found. Nor do I - the argument against multi-culturalism is being proven day by day in terms of the tension between Islam and Christianity - all legitimate areas of concern for a shcolar as he was. Indeed Enoch Powell was far too intelligent for anything so basic as racism. He operated at a cerebral level far in advance of many of the detractors he faced then and now. Detail seems to be beyond many individuals and their views are quite embarrassing to read. I mean that they should be embarrassed for writing such ill informed pap but, of course, by their very nature they aren't. Frankly if someone can send a comment to your blog, as I've seen below, calling you racist on the basis of this article then there isn't much that can be said. Ashamed of their own distortion would be the starting point.
My view is that you are correct. Mass immigration caused by the fact that this country is in a grotesque stagnation caused by a century (approx) of the welfare state (run by government rather than friendly societies and the like) is damaging. Crucially people should feel the need to work. How do you do that? Well you can't force them but you can incentivise. Tax rates should be lowered accross the board and marginal rates brought into a flat rate.
I wish the conservatives would have the courage of their convictions because those who argue that tax rates being lowered is selfish and will harm the poor are either mis-informed or liars.
Lowering tax rates has always (my evidence is from the US but I fail to see why the effect should not be repeated here) raised tax revenues by stimulating the economy. This increases everyones wealth. Tax takes money that would be spent or invested by individuals (often extrmemely productive individuals) and is spent by government. Can anyone truly argue that government has a good record, anywhere in the world, of doing this.
This escape from government mandated responsibility rather than true personal responsibility should be the bedrock of the conservative party.
Never let a left winger tell you that you don't care about other people because you don't believe in high taxes. How dare they try to judge my motives for what I believe in. How weak of the conservative party to have let the debate move to the position where this is the case.
If you really want good health care and good education for all then trying to solve it by letting government do it will NEVER work. I want poor unfortunates cared for very well. I want children from whatever background educated very well. I don't give a damn about someones skin colour.
I do care that people should not have their proerety confiscated and wasted by a government machine that thinks it has the moral right to take from one section of society (the productive citizens) and give it to another (the deserving but also the undeserving).
Your article is tame and reasonable and fair. The response to it has not been.
I am disgusted that the Tory leadership has folded to this utter rubbish. The left have won the battle for control of the media.
I will make my money and go to the USA as sooon as possile - If I believed in God I would be praying the Hillary Clinton does not win otherwise she will New Labourise the USA and that would be a tragedy of global proprtions.
The USA is the last remaining place where the individuals liberty is still discussed in politics. Everywhere else pseudo socialism is the most benign form of government and then downwards. The 'individual' is totally buried in these cultures.

Well said.
It is not long since the Oz P.M. issued an ultimatum to immigrants on exactly the same lines.
'You chose to come here. You must accept our standards, our moral, our religious rules, our laws, ourf condiitons.
You still have the greatest liberty of all. The right to leave this country, now.' Sparticus
i heard yesterday that christmas offends our imigrant friends and that maybe it should be cancelled... Nigel, while Cameron is regarded as having betrayed his country, you, Sir, have emerged as a National Hero.
"All I know is that to see, and not to speak, is the great betrayal"
- Enoch Powell
You should stand independantly in locals and be safe in the knowledge that you only spoke about what every British person is thinking! *WELL DONE* Immigration is out of control and all us Brits have to leave the UK to get a better deal. This is not racism, but a fact.
I was told my council that as we are white british my 7 year old daughter and I could live on the streets! My niece is very sick and has been refused the operation she needs to save vital organs as she doesn't fit the current priority! No room for us British people!
Nigel
I dont support you in any way on this and would only ask if your "granny" in the story is as fictional as Enoch Powells character was in his speech?
Even though it is the currency of politicains to lie to make up stories to support a view is cheap and stupid. Please return to your career as a journalist where at least it is acceptable to make up stories.
No doubt Alfred the Great and Harold Godwinson were called a racist bigots too. After all the Danes and Normans only wanted to come here to take our land and help themselves to our wealth. What's wrong with that? I work all my life and put money in a private pension, then along comes Gordon Brown and steals some of it. We pay our Nat Insurance stamps and build a health service, then along come a million immigrants and our good hearted leaders give it to them for free. You need drugs but the money's gone - tough! My kids have to travel eight miles to school because our local school is full of immigrant kids. Am I complaining? No. Get over it Nigel, we are a nation of doormats and those who deride you are brain dead.
Be strong Nigel !!. Don't let the howling pc marxsist trolls intimidate you.
Stand as a Independent candidate with immigration and our cultural demise as major part of your ticket. Gathering around you a real diverse team....of Hindus,Sikhs and he rest of the well integrated ,long established and honorable groups who like us feel threatened and afraid. This viral spread must be taken up by a Leader of Integrity and you my Good Fellow are just the Ticket.
Churchill needs a resurrection in his prophecy and so does Powell.
Stand up and it will amaze you the furore it creates as Brittania arises to your cause !!
Your country and people need Real men of Integrity Nigel !!
Join the BNP and get 2.5% of the vote says an obvious lefty. As a BNP councillor myself I would be shocked at that sort of result. We are pushing to be the third party of Britain now and that is with the other three combining their resources to stop us. Our last five local elections have resulted in votes of 20% to 35% and we haven't won in any. We don't cheat, we don't slander, we don't make up ridiculous lies about the other parties, we don't need to. They have no credibility where we speak the truth. I've already seen a comment on here about us being thugs, another lie. The idiot that wrote it has no evidence of that. He probably read it in that most truthful of respectable rags ,the Daily Mirror. If saving this country from the dark forces of marxist Labour means anything to you or anyone out there, check us out and find out the reality of the BNP, not Kevin McGuire's version. Forming new parties is all well and good but time is running out. The EU juggernaut is crucifying us and Labour's financial miracle was always a myth, propped up by massive borrowing and asset sell offs. Native Brits are fleeing the cities and 250 000 a year going abroad to escape this dirty, violent and benefit dependant country. I was cautious of joining the BNP myself but it's the best thing I ever did. I might not save my country from the Bildebergers and world dominating capitalists who couldn't give a damn about my country or my history but I will be able to look at my kids before I die and say I tried.
Issn't it quite funny all these people who say they want to leave Britain.
"I hate immigrants and so I'm going to leave this country and become... er, an immigrant".
I'm sure America, New Zealand and Oz won't welcome hordes of sponging British asylum seekers.
Glad to hear your political career is over Nigel. You're a bigot and a racist who sought to whip up hatred for your own ends. I'm pleased to tell you, "Och aye, time to say goodbye".
Hi
I'm fascinated by the number of people who appear to have posted comments in the middle of the night!
That aside, whilst I didn't agree with your remarks, having read the article I cannot see anything in it that is a sacking offense. You were expressing a view that, rightly or wrongly, many people seem to agree with. What really worries me is the dilution of our freedoms - of speech and to demonstrate - corner stones of democracy that we are sending young men to die for in other nations.
Now you know how the BNP feel, day in day out the far left media, tell lie after lie about the party, you may aswell stand for the BNP at your constuency, because the leftists will never leave you alone. and the BNP are going to be massive over the next two or three years.
John, Chester
I've just read Nigel Hastilow's article and fully appreciate his comments and those who have suffered from conditions caused by excessive immigration.
It is disgusting that he was summoned to the Tory 'Star Chamber' and pressed to apologise in such a degrading manner.
If Cameron had any sense he would look into the legitimate grievances of people whom Hastilow mentions, to see how he could reduce the pain which has been caused to them over the years when immigration was a taboo subject.
While the legitimacy of your comments is debatable, I believe that by invoking the name of Enoch it has been harmful to the chances of Conservatives winning the next general election.
The Conservative Party's loss is the BNP's gain. Culture is thicker than secular state; WAKE UP!
If you have a situation where you have many very different cultures in the same country, all competing for that countries resources as whole communities, then the the prospect of civil war will only increase in parallel with the that situation's proliferation. This is a BASIC anthropological fact, - its what humans do all over the planet and have been doing for tens of thousands of years and beyond.
WAKE UP! Britain can ill afford this retarded level of dyslexic stupidity.
