Why are the Americans, the Germans, the CBI, our ex-Ambassador to the US and all the great and good warning David Cameron about the danger to Britain of even the thought that we might pull out of the EU? Because that’s what the Prime Minister wants them to say. He has no intention of offering the voters a way out but he needs to pile pressure on himself to see off his own Eurosceptics and UKIP. It’s all about party politics and has nothing to do with what’s best for Britain.
